Banganga is a pre-historic magical reservoir steeped in legend nestled amongst the tall, mammoth, modern skyscrapers of Malabar Hill.
Legend says that during his exile, Lord Ram stopped at this place and made a Walkeshwar Shiva Linga – God made in sand – and pierced his arrow into the ground and sweet waters sprang out – Banganga – despite the Arabian Sea being a few feet away.
The Banganga has several ancient temples built around its divine periphery.
Once a year, a Classical Indian Music Festival is held at Banganga….a much awaited event!
Duration: This is a walking tour around the reservoir. You could do it on its own or clubbed with another tour. On its own it would take 2 hours or more.
